Our Approach

Who We Are

For many years, there has been a tradition at Westerly High School (WHS) that when a class celebrates its 50th Anniversary, that class donates a gift to the school, ex., granite bench, bulldog statue, display cabinet. This scholarship fund was created so that any class, or individual, can recognize a milestone with a contribution to this scholarship! The fund makes annual awards to graduating seniors that live in Westerly, and is designed to last forever!
This fund was established for the sole purpose of providing assistance in the form of educational scholarships to graduating seniors of Westerly High School. The scholarships must be used toward an apprenticeship, technical certification or licensure, associates or bachelor's degree, or for tools for their trade if they are entering the workforce directly.
It is the vision of the Fund that Westerly High School Alumni past and future take a supporting role in perpetuating the growth of the endowment in years to come. The WHS Alumni Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a Rhode Island Non-Profit Corporation and has been granted 501 (c) 3 status by the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax deductible! The WHS Alumni Scholarship Fund is managed through the Rhode Island Foundation and administered by WHS Alumni Scholarship Fund Committee.
